Our capital and growth stewardship initiative Celebration was held May 15, 2005.  Our church family has pledged over $822,000 to furthering God's work in the world.  We are looking forward to taking our church into the future by focusing on the three specific areas in the initiative.

Building First … To Last 

Key Events

March13 -- Vision Sunday, Rev. Greg and Diane Herr shared a dialogue sermon on what Building First ... To Last is all about:  A People, A Place, A Promise!  (Text of March 13 Vision Sunday Dialogue Sermon)

April 3 -- First Sunday of "Inspirational Phase," "Three Celebration Points" and a special video viewing.  A Q&A session followed worship.

April 10 -- Our children to show us what First Congregational Church means to them.  We watched the Poster Parade during the service and can view these colorful interpretations in the Community Room.  Plus a testimonial! View some of the posters. Read Diane Walter's testimonial.

April 17 Theme -- "Prepare Ye The Way" The joy and jubilation continued as with the Youth in charge of the worship service.  It was a time of special readings, uplifting songs, testimonials, and Spirit-inspired skits.  Pictures of the worship service.

April 23 -- Building First … On Talent!  A wonderful evening of music and entertainment coordinated by Paul Grizzell.  View some pictures of this event.

April 24 -- Theme of "Equal Challenge and Commitment" and sharing of a testimonial. Testimonial of Nancy John.

April 30 -- Building First … With Prayer!  An 8-hour Saturday prayer vigil was held.  We’ll prayed for all of the individual members/friends of our congregation.

May 1 -- It's Special Event Time!  First Congregational Church moved to the Naperville Country Club for a special morning worship followed by a celebratory meal.  Pictures of the event.  Judy Bryson's testimonial.  Worship bulletin. May 8 -- Building First … With Prayer & Reflection  We continued our prayers for guidance as commitment cards were collected.

May 15 -- Today we Celebrated!  For the past nine weeks, we worked and prayed to fulfill the vision of "Building First … To Last." Our church family has pledged over $826,681.57 to furthering God's work in the world.
