First Congregational Church of Christ, 25 E. Benton Ave., Naperville, Illinois 60540

We Seek

an associate pastor with the necessary theological training, ecclesiastical credentials, and faith to relate to and reach out to youth and their families. We look to find a person who not only possesses these qualities, but will also fulfill some regular pastoral duties.

We Are

a growing congregation of approximately 350 members drawn from the Chicago suburban area. Our church follows strongly in the belief of an open  and affirming environment where any/all peoples may come to worship. In 2033, we will celebrate the bicentennial of our church. The professional staff includes a senior pastor, a youth and Sunday school coordinator, a choir director, and an organist. The support staff consists of a secretary, bookkeeper, and custodian.

We Worship

in a beautiful, historic sanctuary built in 1905 that includes attractive stained glass windows. Our facility includes numerous classrooms, a nursery, and fellowship hall. The church is conveniently located in the prosperous, downtown Naperville area.

We Live

in the business, cultural and educational center of downtown Naperville.  Naperville has approximately 136,380 residents, many of whom flock to this area for dining and shopping.  Within walking distance of our church, there are multiple schools, from the elementary level to a private Division III college, which ranks among the best in national education.  Also featured in downtown Naperville is the beautiful Riverwalk.  Here, people can enjoy a nice stroll along the river, go swimming at Centennial Beach, stop for an ice cream cone, or even go for a ride on the paddleboats.

Together We Will

commune with each other and our community in order to:

bullet

affirm God’s presence in our midst and in the world.

bullet

welcome and accept people with diverse ideas.

bullet

work continuously to make clear to ourselves and others the radical message of love and justice preached by Jesus.

bullet

embody that message in actions which support physically, emotionally, and spiritually, ourselves, our congregation, and our community.

bullet

reach out to encourage others to join an open and affirming community of Christians
