The youth worship team which is composed of several adults and youth, some from the worship ministry. This team brings together the youth (6th-12th grade) to participate in the worship service.
Training: The youth are trained in how to speak, how to usher, how to lead a unison reading, how to be a greeter, tell stories, and how to use a microphone. Youth learn the elements of a worship service are and also how we use themes to pull the service together.
Meaning of Worship: Discussions are held to understand what worship is and engage the youth to create elements of the worship service for use on youth Sunday.
Music: The team is responsible for engaging the youth in performing music during worship. Music selected will appeal to the youth and conform to the mission statement of our congregation and be approved by the Music Director with input from the Worship Ministry.
Youth Sunday: This is the first Sunday of the month. The youth are greeters, ushers, readers, handle children’s time, and provide a piece of music.
Liturgy: Youth are encouraged to write the liturgy for the service and also to create skits acting out the scriptures or lessons in contemporary life.
Youth Leadership: The team will work to develop leadership in the youth in the area of worship.
