Several of us have heard from our partners in refugee ministry, World Relief, about a meeting this Thursday. I’d like to share the information with you in case you’re interested in going. (Note: the original location (World Relief offices in Wheaton) has changed to the Compass Church on Roosevelt Road.)
Stand with us…
Are you hearing about the Administration’s recently signed plans to significantly affect the refugee resettlement program to the United States?
Are you wondering what that means for World Relief and the people we serve?
Have you heard about the newly signed Executive Orders which will affect millions of immigrants already in our country?
Are you wondering what you can do?
If you would like to learn more about what is happening and how you can speak up about these proposals affecting immigrants and refugees, please join us tomorrow evening, Thursday, February 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the Compass Church in Wheaton for anyone interested. (520 E Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton).
The goal of this meeting is to inform attendees on key components of the recent Executive Orders which affect refugees and immigrants as well as cover what effective advocacy looks like and practical next steps for engagement.
Contact Jamie Daling to RSVP or with questions at firstname.lastname@example.org
One more thing…please pray…pray for the immigrants and refugees here and around the world that are so deeply impacted by these changes, for us and our communities…that we continue to serve the vulnerable in love and hope and that we continue to show great hospitality even when we are struggling.
Grace and peace,
