Stewardship is our response to God's
grace--it is our chance to contribute our time, our talents, and our
treasures. The members of the Stewardship Ministry were
concerned that our congregation found it necessary to cut our missions
budget for this year. They came up with this great new
program! In May 2004, we introduced "4 Bits 4
Missions." In December 2004 we collected $4000 for this
program. |

"4 Bits 4 Missions" is an additional
opportunity to contribute our treasures. What does the slogan "4
Bits 4 Missions" mean? Some of you may already know that a
"bit" is an eighth of a dollar, and that 4 bits
is equal to 50 cents. So, if you save 4 bits
a day for missions, that's putting 50
cents aside each and every day until mid-December. December is
when we will collect the funds in order for the
missions ministry to distribute them this calendar year. |
Now, what's the "4 missions" part about?
The missions ministry designated
four missions to receive this offering:
 | Little Friends |
 | Samaritan Interfaith |
 | Loaves & Fishes |
 | Our Church's Wider Mission |
We'll hear more about these organizations directly from the
missions ministry during the coming months. |

Put a jar in your bedroom, in the kitchen, children's rooms, or
wherever change might accumulate. Label the jar with "4
Bits 4 Missions." There are so many types of jars, find one
you like. It's never too late to start! |
| If EVERY household contributes 4 bits a
day, we'll add over $8000 for missions this year. What a wonderful
Christmas present for the missions we've
decided to support with this offering! |
