Document Guidelines

In an effort to ensure that our documents contain all of the appropriate copyrights, information and messages, these documentation guidelines have been created. The goal is to represent our church in a consistent manner to the community at large. The Council of Ministries maintains these guidelines. While the guidelines are voluntary, consistent with a permission giving environment, we encourage members to utilize them for their work. People should feel free to be creative and thoughtful in their creation of documents. Contact the moderator if you have any questions or concerns. Please consult the Privacy Guidelines before creating any documents.

Standard Terminology

	The official name of our church is: "First Congregational Church of Naperville, A Congregation of the United Church of Christ". This can be shortened to: "First Congregational Church UCC" or "First Congregational Church United Church of Christ"
	The slogan "Love and Justice in Downtown Naperville" should be used where ever possible to describe the mission of our church.
	Liberal use of a copyright statement is encouraged. The wording is:

	The By-laws of the church should be used as reference for the terminology not specified here.
	The following standard information should appear on all print or advertising material where possible (choose one based on the audience):

Graphics and Fonts

Where possible, graphics for print materials should be consistent across the website, print materials and advertisements. This means that the preferred font is Arial. The Veranda font is the second choice. Green is considered to be the primary accent color for the general church information (R: 0, G:128, B:0). Other colors can be used for various purposes. You can copy these graphics to your computer by right clicking on the picture and clicking on "save as". Make sure you keep track of where you save it. You can adjust it to whatever size you require.

Photograph Release

Individuals are required to provide a release to the church permitting the use of photographs. For children (under the age of 18) a parent's or guardian's signature is required.
